Inverness's "Highland Swing" is, as the name suggests, a 'swing' band.
It was formed in the Summer of 2004 by enthusiasts of swing and jazz music.
The aim was to provide a musical outlet for the Highland communities and to bring back
the music of a by-gone era. The Band players' ages, like their experience, cover a wide range. But, then, experience is not the most important criterion we look for in a Band member. No, we would prefer enthusiasm. But the knowledge of which way up to hold your instrument helps too! If you think you might be interested in joining us, why not come along to our rehearsal one night. We meet on Tuesday nights at 7pm in Millburn Academy in Inverness most weeks of the year. See you soon. |
